What We Do

 

We are a new, Pagan-owned-and-operated, print-on-demand publisher. We anticipate that our first book, The Art of Magic Words by Llysse Smith Wylle, should be available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and other online booksellers by early in 2008.

We print our books through Lulu, essentially leasing their equipment, just like their other customers. We primarily use Lulu because Lulu has provided the highest quality POD printing for us, as well as the best service. Proofs from some other services we’ve seen have been of inconsistent quality. One proof we received from another service had trimmed the cover so that it appeared to be on the diagonal—yikes! Neither authors nor publishers want their readers getting a book like that. Printers shouldn’t, either.

GroundMark Press can provide professional publishing services, including content editing, copy editing, proofing, layout, cover design, PR and marketing. We are essentially a group of professional freelancers with like minds and a great deal of experience, who can help you produce a professional quality work.

We love Lulu’s services, but remember: Lulu will publish anything you send them: typos, misspellings, grammatical errors and all. Don’t let your good work be dismissed as amateurish just because you don’t have experience in the publishing industry. You may have produced a diamond in the rough—something that, with a little polish by the experts, will glitter and get the attention it deserves.

Text Box: What we do for YOU If you’re a bookstore: We can wholesale our books, usually at a much lower price than Ingram’s can provide. Ask about our bulk discounts! We can provide autographed copies of our books for selected markets so you can increase your revenue per book and draw people to your store. We can provide you with PDFs of marketing materials for our books. Some of these products can be co-branded, and they are all FREE to our customers. If you’re an author (or the friend of an author): We’ve had requests for GroundMark merchandise… that is, merchandise beyond books. Well, we’re a publisher; we don’t print T-shirts or mugs. Nonetheless, we also bend to the will of the people, and so have created a storefront with many silly things. Don’t say we didn’t warn you about the silliness. We have not seen proofs of these items, so order at your own risk!
